Dalen and Gole

Tour of the Kootenays

By Book Tour, Dalen and Gole

Mike Deas in the Kootenays promoting Dalen and Gole Graphic Novel.

October brought a great school and library tour of BC’s Kootenays. My wife, Nancy, and I visited eight towns: Fruitvale, Kaslo, Nelson, Salmo, Cranbrook, Kimberly, Fernie and Sparwood. I got the chance to share the creation process of my latest graphic novel, Dalen and Gole: Scandal in Port Angus and meet some great aspiring artists. The hospitality and scenery were fantastic. I would like to thank each of the schools and libraries we visited for the warm reception and enthusiastic audiences:

Fruitvale Elementary, Fruitvale

JV Humphries School, Kaslo

Nelson Public Library, Nelson

Salmo Elementary, Salmo

Amy Woodland, Cranbrook

McKim Middle School, Kimberly

Fernie Heritage Library, Fernie

F.J. Mitchell Elementary School, Sparwood

Also, I would like to thank the Kootenay Library Federation for making this all possible!

Dalen and Gole books!

By Dalen and Gole, Illustration

dalenandgole_bookI received my copies of Dalen and Gole: Scandal in Port Angus yesterday. It’s really exciting to see the final version, they are nice and heavy with the full 120 pages. The folks at Orca did a great job of laying out the cover and putting the book together. It should be hitting the book shelves any day now!

My first book Dalen and Gole: Scandal in Port Angus, written and illustrated by myself, is all finished and in the process of being printed. It should hit the shelves around the beginning of October. I have added a page in the books section with some pics and a summery, check it out here! There should be a site up soon and I will be posting more info about it in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
