Below I describe the process I use creating the weekly web-comic on dalenandgole.com!
I start by roughing out the comic in blue using a Col-Erase pencil. I sometimes do a really rough thumbnail sketch before I launch into this stage.
Next I ink the comic using a Number 2 Winsor & Newton series 7 sable brush and Speedball India Ink.
Then I scan the comic into the computer and remove the blue pencil lines from the image leaving just the black lines. On a Wacom screen I color in flat colors before shading.
On top of the flat colors I paint in shading. Then I overlay watercolor washes to add some texture leaving me with the final result:
