I sometimes do a really rough thumbnail sketch before I launch into this stage.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-423\" title=\"DalenAndGole_WebComicProcess2\" src=\"http:\/\/deasillustration.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/DalenAndGole_WebComicProcess2.jpg\" alt=\"DalenAndGole_WebComicProcess2\" width=\"478\" height=\"280\" srcset=\"http:\/\/deasillustration.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/DalenAndGole_WebComicProcess2.jpg 478w, http:\/\/deasillustration.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/DalenAndGole_WebComicProcess2-300x175.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 478px) 100vw, 478px\" \/>Next I ink the comic using a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.winsornewton.com\/products.aspx?PageID=325\">Number 2 Winsor &amp; Newton series 7 sable brush<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.currys.com\/catalogpc.htm?CATEGORY=A091B004245\">Speedball India Ink<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-424\" title=\"DalenAndGole_WebComicProcess3\" src=\"http:\/\/deasillustration.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/DalenAndGole_WebComicProcess3.jpg\" alt=\"DalenAndGole_WebComicProcess3\" width=\"478\" height=\"176\" srcset=\"http:\/\/deasillustration.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/DalenAndGole_WebComicProcess3.jpg 478w, http:\/\/deasillustration.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/DalenAndGole_WebComicProcess3-300x110.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 478px) 100vw, 478px\" \/>Then I scan the comic into the computer and remove the blue pencil lines from the image leaving just the black lines. On a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wacom.com\/en\/Products\/Cintiq.aspx\">Wacom<\/a> screen I color in flat colors before shading.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-425\" title=\"DalenAndGole_WebComicProcess4\" src=\"http:\/\/deasillustration.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/DalenAndGole_WebComicProcess4.jpg\" alt=\"DalenAndGole_WebComicProcess4\" width=\"478\" height=\"190\" srcset=\"http:\/\/deasillustration.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/DalenAndGole_WebComicProcess4.jpg 478w, http:\/\/deasillustration.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/DalenAndGole_WebComicProcess4-300x119.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 478px) 100vw, 478px\" \/>On top of the flat colors I paint in shading.
